General Information
The festival was started by Blue Bird Jazzclub in 1971 in Åhus, a small town 20 km south-east of Kristianstad. In 2003 the responsibility was taken over by Musik i Syd, a public music organisation for the southern region of Sweden, who is also producing many other events and concerts within classical music, jazz, world/folk music etc.

Kristianstad is situated 1 hour’s drive from Malmo.
Please follow road E22 towards Kalmar.

Venues
- The concert 11 Oct (Margareta Bengtson) is at Blå Station in Åhus, 20 km SE of Kristianstad.
- Abdullah Ibrahim’s concert 12 Oct is at Kristianstad’s Concert Hall (400 numbered seats).
- Deborah Brown and Fredrik Lindborg perform in a smaller room in the Concert Hall building, starting 30 minutes after Abdullah Ibrahim finishes. Separate ticket required.
- 13 Oct three groups perform at Södra Kasern, V. Storgatan 51 F. www.sodrakasern.nu. JazzKamikaze, Joe Lovano Quartet and Manu Dibango & The Soul Makossa Band. Doors open 18.30. Music from 19.30 until round 01.00.
