The Jazzbüro Hamburg was founded in 1996 by Jazz fans, musicians and organizers. This association represents and supports contemporary Jazz in Hamburg. We are interested in the current varieties in Jazz and its musical and cultural integration in the city. Thanks to the interest and curiousity of both artists and audience members, Jazz remains a resurgent music, setting new trends through the rejuvenation of its past traditions. The Jazzbüro is dedicated to support the exchange and correspondence of national and international artists with local artists and to make and maintain contact with other institutions. One main activity is the exchange of musicians between cities and countries.
Some of our projects include:
- "Hamburg Jazz Open" - a free outdoor festival;
- "Hamburger Jazztage“ - at the beginning of October indoor;
- regular publication of "JazzCity Hamburg“ CDs;
- support of the nationwide competition „Jugend Jazzt“;
- support of individual Jazz concert series at various locations throughout the city;
- JazzhausRadio – every Tuesday from 13.00 - 15.00 on TIDE 96,0 fm.

"JazzOpen Hamburg" – The outdoor Jazz festival in the city center
This extraordinary festival in the heart of our city has achieved a cult-status in the meantime: two days of Jazz in the relaxed atmosphere of the park Planten un Blomen, open to the public. Since 1997, Hamburg musicians and guests have performed and presented the current trends in Jazz for thousands of audience members. The festival is organized by the Hamburg Jazz Bureau in cooperation with the NDR Jazz editorial office.

Hamburger Jazztage – The indoor Festival at changing locations
The Hamburger Jazztage are a peculiarity within the German Jazz festival circuit: local musicians and international stars share the stage and present every possible facet of contemporary Jazz. The concept behind this festival has been an enormous success with audience and critics alike since its incarnation in 2004.
